The idea is that you target a particular set of keywords, once a potential client searches for these keywords on a search engine such as Google, you company will arrive on the first page or second page of the results. How to Manage Your Online Reputation if You Run a Hotel

Source

If you are a hotelier, you will know how important it is that if your productivity and guest satisfaction levels rise, so will your profitability. One key way to achieve that, and to monitor it, is through the work of an online reputation management company.

Why Reviews Matter

In February 2010, eMarketer reported that customers trust reviews 12 times more than official descriptions. That is huge! And we now also know that most people look up these reviews online. So much so, in fact, that entire websites are dedicated to it.

Online Reputation Management (ORM) for Hotels

Hotels need to engage in ORM by analyzing their customers’ feelings, looking at guest reviews. Often, algorithms are created for this, which comes up with quantifiable data and metrics that can be used to improve the current situation. These algorithms are very powerful and create scores based on customer reviews, while at the same time taking into consideration:

  1. The age of the reviewer.
  2. How often they have left review.
  3. What the source of the review is.
  4. What the preferences of the guest were.

This is hugely important data that can tell a hotel where they are doing well, and where they need to improve. In August 2010, Channel Advisor’s ‘Consumer Shopping Habits Survey’ demonstrated that customer reviews influence 83% of all shoppers! Meanwhile, in November 2012, Late Rooms reported that 35% of people looking for a hotel room will only do so after they have read positive reviews.

Of course, there are other challenges that hotels face as well, which is why they have to be so proactive. Data monitoring, however, is a key way in which to address all those challenges. Hence, a good hotel should have staff that monitors the internet, and particularly social media, an is proactive in spreading positive reviews about the establishment.

One of the key other challenges for hotels, however, is that of internet security. They handle very sensitive data and are therefore sometimes reluctant to have a strong online presence. However, a strong online presence instantly improves a reputation as well. Some of the things you should do, therefore, include:

  • Checking reviews from all different sources.
  • Having an ORM program in place so that reviews can be answered from a singular dashboard.
  • Sharing negative reviews internally to improve services, and sharing positive ones externally to improve reputation.
  • Collecting guest feedback as standard.
  • Collecting data across a range of different data sets.
  • Monitoring what the competition is doing.

Hotels live on their reputation. People who have never stayed in The Ritz, for instance, still know that it is expensive and of fantastic quality. It is about building a name like that of The Ritz, one where you ensure that if someone finds themselves stranded in a city, they will know that your hotel is available and that they will have a comfortable, high quality experience when they are there. That is reputation management.

Awesome Ways To Make Some Extra Cash

Source

Have you been eyeing up a new gadget or toy that you really want but you can’t find the disposable income in order to purchase it worry and stress free? Maybe you have been thinking about purely putting a bit of extra cash away for a rainy fay or for that special holiday and you can’t find the space between bills, rent or mortgage and car payments. You aren’t alone in your quest for more disposable cash and this article will highlight a couple of great ways you can earn some side money to help you have more room in your account for fun things or saving!

Sell Unwanted, Used or Second Hand Items

This is a big thing for people these days who are looking to make some extra cash and have a hankering to clear out the loft or basement. Some unwanted items that just sit around collecting dust can be incredibly valuable – even books that you think are only worth a few dollars could be worth hundreds if they are rarer copies, first editions and the like. Clothes, toys, video games, old music players and the like can fetch high prices on selling websites like Ebay, Music Magpie and more. As a bonus it means you get rid of some of the clutter in the house to make way for your new toys and gadgets! Win, win!

Dog Walking, Babysitting

These might sound pretty standard in terms of things to do for some side cash, but if you get a large list of local clients your overheads are essentially nothing (okay, maybe some little baggies for clean ups), but that’s it! People are always looking for babysitters as well so babysitting can become quite lucrative quite quickly and as most nurseries and daycares charge per child that means you can as well – albeit maybe a bit less than daycares in order to create a drive to hire you over them! There are some bonuses to both of these aside from extra money as well and that’s getting exercise by walking dogs and being able to stay home with your own kids if you’re babysitting. Becoming a day-home operator is something to also consider – essentially being a parent other parents pay to stay home and care for children all day – but getting relevant licensing and insurances to cover this idea can be costly so look into it first in your individual area.

Playing Games Online

Sound too good to be true? It isn’t! With awesome online live casinos in the UK with no download required such as William Hill, there is always a game to play any time of day, where ever you are. Casinos online can be incredibly lucrative especially with William Hill bonuses and free spins and the like. So try your luck today and check out an online casino and see how you can make a bit of extra money while having fun too.

So there you have some great suggestions on making some extra money to help pay for those costs that might crop up or to help save for that special something. So get started and watch the money start coming in! Have fun!

These Are Most the Most Popular Types of Blogs

You have decided you definitely want to start a blog and have completed a lot of the basics like studied up on SEO, and even met with a local SEO company to discuss hiring them to ensure you write your posts so that you can get preferred placement on search engines. And now you need to decide once and for all what your blog will be about. You have a few choices because there are several topics you know well and others you are passionate about. But what is as important is deciding the exact style of blog you want to create. Here are your options:

Opinion Blog

These are the most popular types of blogs on the Internet. They are all about giving the blog writer (or writers) an outlet to share personal opinions. Opinion blogs often are fronted by a personality or expert type, they focus on polarizing topics, and have their reputation built by their readers and those who oppose their views.

Opinion blogs will mix actual news with opinion and sometimes try to position themselves as news sites, but in reality they only use real news to either prove or further their point of view.  Popular topics for these types of blogs includes: politics, entertainment and sports.

Entertainment Blog

These blogs often elicit the most passion from readers. They revolve around the life of actors, singers, athletes, models, gamers, and other entertainment personalities. Some entertainment blogs may feature this entire group while others only a portion. Some are mostly informational while others claim to be, but are really semi-scandalous.

Whatever the case, the popular ones keep millions of readers entertained, commenting and coming back for more. The common features of entertainment blogs are that they provide the latest updates, gossips and trends in the entertainment world. Some of the most popular are now owned and run by the television networks who want to be active in online communication about of celebrities.

Business Blog

Blogging has become an essential part of many companies marketing strategy and with good reason. A blog gives a company an opportunity to engage its potential customers in a more meaningful and personal way and to provide quick and essential feedback to them quickly. To be most effective, their blog might need to have a focus much broader then the products and services they sell, and include topics that are intimate or crucial to readers. An example may be that a healthy food products company may focus on providing health tips that actually fit outside the areas that their products would be able to affect directly, but the information is delivered under a heading of improving the quality of reader’s lives. Many of these blogs utilize a call to action strategy where readers are invited to try the company’s products and services and plenty of links to related sites that provide additional advice and insight to readers, and offer additional revenue opportunities for the business.

Information Blog

There is a class of blog that is purely information and designed to give readers a deep and sometimes technical understanding of a topic. It may include tutorials and real life scenarios with which the readers can potentially relate to, and utilize for their own benefit. Certain informative blogs even invite their readers to comment and debate on topics, allowing them to share their own knowledge with other blog readers.

Using The Internet To Learn Something New

So, a few months ago I realized that I really wasn’t harnessing the immense power that the internet has, there I was, sat at the computer with a vast amount of capabilities in front of me and all I could think of to do was play retro Sega games, check my Instagram and watch videos of people falling off heir skateboards.

It was at this moment that I made a decision to use the power which the internet has and utilize it to learn something new, two things actually. My choices were that I would learn how to play the guitar and that I would learn all about the Ancient Egyptians, a topic which I have always been fascinated by. If you want to do what I did and learn something new then here are some great ways to do so.

Timing

How much time you will have each day will depend on your own schedule but I would advise that you set a certain of portion of time aside each day and stick to it if you want to get the most out of learning.

Expectations

If it has been a while since you studied then you are going to need to lower your expectations in the first month or two. When you are young, your brain is like a sponge and you can soak up knowledge in no time at all, as the years tick on this can become a little more difficult so bear that in mind when you begin.

Resources

Once you have made the decision for what you will learn about you should spend a good few hours on search engines discovering the best places to get your resources. Wikipedia serves its purpose pretty well but you should never solely rely on this as a factual resource. In fact you should cross reference facts across many different sites to get to the bottom of it.

I like to use the fantastic Great Courses material designed by Thomas Rollins teaching expert and educator who put together this fantastic study material for a wide range of subjects.

YouTube is a wonderful tool as well  if you are looking to pick up a new skill or watch documentaries, my guitar playing has improved greatly in a few short months and that is thanks to the step-by-step guides on the video site. I was also able to find some great footage from inside the pyramids and a mock-autopsy of Tutankhamen on YouTube, this is a great place for reference.

Self Discipline

The final part of learning something new online is to ensure that you are disciplined with yourself around your learning. There is nobody there to tell you what or when to study and for this reason you need to be able to have the commitment and the self-learning abilities to work hard and learn as much as you can all by yourself. Just think of it like this, you are doing this for yourself and if you fail to study or decide to relax instead of learn then the only person that damages is you.
